More concern towards children and mothers care required: UoM Registrar V.R. Shylaja

Mysuru, December 7, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “The role of a mother in every family is vital. Hence, more concern and care towards children and mothers is required,” observed University of Mysore Registrar V.R. Shylaja.
She participated in a two-day workshop on the topic, “Care and Health of Children,” organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications, University of Mysore, in association with the UNICEF, Hyderabad. In her address, she said, “a pregnant woman should take more care of her health, because it impacts on the health and growth of both the mother and the child. In case if a woman is anemic, it might impact the still to be born child,” she said.
“It is the objective of the UNICEF to ensure improvement of both the mother and the child. Any news or story published by the media should uplift the rights of children. The media’s response during COVID was appreciable across the world. They created awareness among the people without fear of their own lives. Likewise, the media should also shoulder responsibility and work towards creating awareness about the care of children and mothers too,” she added.
Dr. Shweta, Nutrition Advisor, Bengaluru, Prof. M.S. Sapna, of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Mysore, Prof. C.K. Puttaswamy, HoD, Prof. Mamatha and others were present.
