Rare documents exhibition at Talakad: UoM VC

Mysuru, February 2, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “The Talakad land excavation and rare documents exhibition held by the Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage is a very meaningful program,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He participated in the two-day seminar on the topic, “Gangas of Talakad and Chauvndaraya,” organised by the University of Mysore, in association with the Department of Jainology and Prakrit and Digambara Jain Math, Shravanabelagola and the Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage.
“This is a very meaningful program. Talakad was once the capital city of Ganga kings. It has a rich history. It is very happy to see that the program is organised here,” he said.
Jitendra Kumar of Sri Kshetra Shravanabelagola, Prof. Vijayakumari S. Karikal, President, Department of Jainology and Prakrit, Sri Muralidharan, Principal, Government PU College, Talkad, gram panchayat president Kempaiah and others were present.
