Teacher Ranjith Singh who taught in Kannada earns Rs. 7.32 crore global prize

Mumbai, Dec. 5, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): A primary school teacher by the name Ranjith Singh Disaale (32), of Solapur in Maharashtra, has been selected for the ‘Global Teacher Award.’ The award has been announced in recognition of his efforts in redesigning the textbook for Kannada medium students studying in his school.
This prize was announced virtually by the London Natural History Museum. In his response, Disaale has stated that this type of recognition will create confidence in the government school system in our country, among the people.
The award is being given by the Work Foundation. The award comprises a sum of Rs.10 lakh dollars (about Rs.7.37 crore) cash prize. Disaale has informed, that he would share half of the amount that he has won with the 10 candidates who were selected for the final round. This is the first time in the history of the Global Teacher Award presentation, where a winner is sharing the prize money.
