Setback for Central govt.: SC stays three amended agri policies and orders formation of expert committee

New Delhi, Jan. 12, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Central Govt. has suffered a setback on its amendment of agriculture policy as the Hon’ble Supreme Court has issued stay orders for three amended Agri policies and form an expert committee.
The Hon’ble Supreme Court, after conducting the trial of the applications submitted against the controversial amended agricultural policy of the Govt. of India informed that the problem relating to the new agriculture policy needs to be addressed, and hence the formation of a committee is necessary. It also informed the protestors to continue their protest if they want to.
Accordingly, the SC has given stay orders for three amended agriculture policies and has formed a four-member expert committee to settle the issue. The farmers who are protesting for the last 45 days have gained a upper hand.
