Minister S.T. Somashekar appeals well-wishers and donors of Mysuru to adopt zoo animals for one more year

Mysuru, Feb. 15, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “During COVID-19 pandemic time I had collected a sum of RS. 3.65 crore from donors of Mysuru, Ministers, and other people whom I know. Many people had adopted the animals. I will again appeal all of them to continue their adoption of the zoo animals in Mysuru for one more year,” opined Mysuru District In-charge Minister S.T. Somashekar.
He visited the Jayachamarajendra Zoo yesterday and checked the condition as the Zoo authorities were facing a financial crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic time. “But now the situation is gradually improving as the inflow of visitors and tourists is increasing,” he said.
On the occasion, he thanked Mrs. Sudha Murthy of Infosys Foundation for contributing a sum of Rs. 3 crore for construction of a gorilla shed and informed that a program would be held soon to felicitate her.
