Govt. didn’t take any measures despite knowing about floods: Former CM Siddaramaiah

Kalaburagi, July 14, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “The State Government didn’t take any precautionary measures despite it knew that a flood situation would arise,” alleged leader of the opposition in the assembly Siddaramaiah.
Speaking to the reporters at the Kalaburagi airport today, he said, “The State Government has failed to take any precautionary measure to prevent the flood situation. They will visit the place and the people only after people lose everything. The state is witnessing heavy rainfall from the last two weeks. But, the District In-charge Ministers didn’t visit their districts. They have started moving only after the CM visited Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada. The government didn’t take any measure despite it knew about the situation. The government should provide compensation immediately according to the loss faced by the victims. They have not provided compensation to the 2019 flood victims,” he said.
In his response to a book on RSS, Siddaramaiah expressed his view the book shows the truth. “The book comprises facts along with documents of whatever has been said by the earlier RSS leaders Hegdewar, Golwalkar, Savarka, etc. Why do they get angry if we tell the truth? A case is slapped against those who speak the truth. It is killing of freedom of speech. Who are they to restrict the rights given to us by the constitution? Even the parliament doesn’t has any right to change the origin of our country,” he said.
