Mysuru, October 4, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Mahisha Dasara Celebration Committee members have expressed their displeasure and ire upon the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and the Mysuru District Administration for not permitting to celebrate Mahisha Dasara.
Addressing a press meet today in Mysuru, former Mayor Purushottam informed that they had applied to the Deputy Commissioner and the Police Commissioner to permit to celebrate Mahisha Dasara. “We are trying to meet the Deputy Commissioner for the last 4-5 days, but he is not meeting us. We had asked permission to perform floral tributes to 20 people. But we have not received any response from the district administration. According to law, any religious celebrations should not be interrupted. Being IAS, IPS officers if you have studied law you should have allowed us. If you are so biased you should resign,” he said.
Further, he said they would celebrate Mahisha Dasara in the district at any cost and pay floral tributes to the Mahisha statue located at the Ashokpuram park, tomorrow at 10.30 am.
