Former CM Siddaramaiah demands CM Bommai to clear his view on Mekedatu project

Bengaluru, August 13, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Former Chief Minister and leader of the opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah has demanded the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai clarify his view on the Mekedatu project.
Speaking about this today Siddaramaiah expressed his view that the BJP has a dual mindset concerning the project. “While the Tamil Nadu BJP is opposing it, BJP National Secretary C.T. Ravi is supporting them. Why is this dual policy? If the Chief Minister expresses his strong view our party will support him completely. But if he doesn’t stop his party people like C.T. Ravi who does lose talking, it will make way for another internal dispute and we will have to start quarreling among ourselves,” he said.
“When it comes to our land-water-language issue our party will never compromise. Whether we are in power or not our view won’t change. The Chief Minister should take all the parties into confidence over the Mekedatu project. He should also ask people who are lose talking to keep quiet,” he suggested.
On the occasion, Siddaramaiah said that the Cauvery water sharing dispute has been solved following the Cauvery Tribunal judgment and the Hon’ble Supreme Court judgment. “There has been no dispute of late concerning water-sharing due to good rainfall and blessing of mother nature. Under such circumstances it is not correct for the Tamil Nadu government to interrupt,” Siddaramaiah said.
