Five lakh compensation released to the kith of journos who died of COVID

Bengaluru, October 8, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The State Government has released a sum of Rs. 5 lakh compensation to the family members of three journalists who died of COVID.
The Karnataka Working Journalists’ Association had appealed to the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to extend help to journalists Swamigowda, former President of the Channarayapatna Taluk Working Journalists’ Association, Gangadhar Hoogar, Reporter, Indian Express, Haveri, and Maruti Rao Tandale, Photo Journalist, Bidar, following which a sum of Rs. 5 lakh compensation was sanctioned.
The present Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today released the compensation amount to the family members of the deceased persons.
The Karnataka State Working Journalists Association President Shivanand Tagadur has extended his gratitude to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa for the same.
