Date for Gujarat Assembly elections fixed: Voting in two phases

New Delhi, November 3, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The Election Commission of India (ECI) has fixed the date for the Gujarat assembly elections. The voting will be held in two phases.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar held a press meet and announced the date today. Accordingly, the assembly elections in Gujarat will be held for 182 assembly constituencies. While voting for 89 constituencies will be held on December 1, the voting for the remaining 93 constituenT Wcies will be held on December 5. The results will be announced on December 8.
The term of the Gujarat assembly will conclude on February 18, next year. Before announcing the time of the voting, the Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar expressed his condolences for those who died in the recent Morbi bridge accident. There are 4.9 crore eligble voters in Gujarat. A total number 51,000 booths, including 34,000 in rural areas will be set up, he informed.
