Bengaluru is now a city of potholes, disarray: Corruption major reason – Former CM HDK

Bengaluru, October 19, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “The world-renowned Bengaluru which was once known as the ‘Garden City,’ ‘Pensioners Paradise,’ ‘Silicon Valley,’ etc., is today known as ‘Pothole City,’ ‘disarray.’ Wide spread corruption, percentage calculation are the main reasons for the present situation,” observed former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.
In a series of tweets, the former CM criticized the State Government for the innumerable potholes on Bengaluru roads. “The State Govt. is playing a dram of setting right everything, after yet another death occurred in the city yesterday on the road opposite to the Lulu Mall in the city. Where is the permanent relief? While the deadly potholes are taking toll of the public, it has become a boon for some others,” he said sarcastically.
“The State Government is very fond of potholes. They earn money as the number of potholes increases. They are not bothering even after the High Court has lambasted them. They are shameless. The officers have become so adamant, they are not budging even if they are warned of imprisonment,” his tweet read.
Continuing, in another tweet, he has condoled the death of Smt. Umadevi who died in the accident and has demanded the government to provide compensation immediately.
