Resolutions made at the University Vice-Chancellors’ Conference

Mysuru, March 25, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The 96th University Vice-Chancellors’ Conference was held for the first time in the University of Mysore, that concluded today. The following resolutions were made at the conference:
1. All the Vice-Chancellors’ of Indian Universities should give more focus on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Measures should be taken to achieve the 17 goals including education, research and inventions.
2. The universities should make efforts to create environmental-friendly atmosphere. More preference should be given for solar and electrical vehicle usage. More environmental conservation related programs should be implemented.
3. The Universities should work to bring gender equality. Should give prominence for safety of women.
4. The Universities should strengthen the objectives of the Atmanirbhar program of Govt. of India. Through adoption of research and innovations economical transformation can be seen by the year 2035.
5. The Association of Indian Universities has prepared a list of points which should be adopted in the higher education system. Should prepare action plan.
6. The Universities should be green zones. Should become smart campuses, technology and entrepreneur-friendly.
7. All the Vice-Chancellors of all the Universities should pledge to provide qualitative education to the students. Efforts should be made to make the global community more prosperous, harmonious, happy, healthy and sustainable.
8. Every University should make efforts to realize the SDGs. Should exchange good practices through Indian Universities.
9. Every University should monitor the progress towards achieving every SDG, evaluate and publish report.
