Omicron cases in country increases to 781

New Delhi, December 29, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The COVID variant Omicron cases are constantly increasing across the nation, forcing the Union government to direct the State governments to take strict measures.
The total number of Omicron cases has increased to 781, and New Delhi has reported the highest number of cases at 238. The numbers in other states are as follows: Maharashtra (167); Gujarat (73); Kerala (65) Karnataka (39); Rajasthan (46); Haryana (13) West Bengal (11); Orissa (8); Uttar Pradesh (2), Goa and Himachal Pradesh one each.
While 241 patients who were reportedly infected with Omicron have recovered. The total number of COVID vaccine doses administered in the country has increased to 143.15 crores. While there are presently 77,002 active COVID cases, the positivity rate is lesser than 1%, recording at 0.22%. It is said that the positivity rate has decreased since March 2020.
