Land lease to Mysore Race club: HC notice to govt.

Mysuru, Nov. 27, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): The Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka has issued a notice with respect to the matter of leasing out land to the Mysore Race club.
The Hon’ble HC has issued a notice to the State Government questioning the leasing of 139 acres government land at Kurubarahalli Village to the Mysore Race Club for 30 years. The notice has been issued based on a PIL submitted by Advocate Umapathi.
The High Court has questioned the government to provide the details like on what basis the land has been given to lease. It is stipulated that 2 per cent of the earnings of the Mysore Club would be collected as returns to the contract. The trail was postponed instructing the applicant to include the Jayachamarajendra Golf Club, which possess the sub-contract as defendant.
