ಮೈಸೂರು,ಜುಲೈ,18,2026 (www.justkannada.in): ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾದಕ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಶೂನ್ಯ ಸಹಿಷ್ಣುತೆ (Zero Tolerance) ನೀತಿ ಅನುಸರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, 2028ರೊಳಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಮಾದಕ ವ್ಯಸನ ಮುಕ್ತ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಿಸುವ ಗುರಿ ಹೊಂದಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತೆ ಸೀಮಾ ಲಾಟ್ಕರ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತೆ ಸೀಮಾ ಲಾಟ್ಕರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ವರಿಷ್ಠಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಮಲ್ಲಿಕಾರ್ಜುನ ಬಾಲದಂಡಿ ಅವರು ಜಂಟಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ‘Operation RISE’ ಮತ್ತು ‘BEDA BRO’ ಅಭಿಯಾನದ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.
Operation RISE ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ Refuse (ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿ), Inform (ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿ), Support (ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡಿ) ಹಾಗೂ Empower (ಸಬಲೀಕರಿಸಿ) ಎಂಬ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಅಂಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಒತ್ತು ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಾಲೆ-ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳು, ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು, ರ್ಯಾಂಡಮ್ ಡ್ರಗ್ ಟೆಸ್ಟ್, ಕೌನ್ಸೆಲಿಂಗ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹಾಯವಾಣಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಬಲಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಅಂಕಿಅಂಶಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, 2023-2026ರ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 22,892 ಎನ್ ಡಿಪಿಎಸ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, 31,271 ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. 28,292 ಕೆ.ಜಿ. ಮಾದಕ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವುಗಳ ಮೌಲ್ಯ ₹794.55 ಕೋಟಿ ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ನಗರ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹ ಮಾದಕ ಜಾಲದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ವಿಶೇಷ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ, ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಅಭಿಯಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಪೆಡ್ಲರ್ ಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಠಿಣ ಕ್ರಮ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

Mysuru Police launch awareness drive under ‘Operation RISE’ and ‘BEDA BRO’ campaign against drugs
Mysuru: Mysuru City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar and Mysuru Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi, addressing a joint press conference, outlined the objectives of the Karnataka government’s ‘Operation RISE’ and ‘BEDA BRO’ anti-drug campaign.
They said the government has adopted a Zero Tolerance policy against narcotics and aims to make Karnataka a drug-free state by 2028.
Under Operation RISE—Refuse, Inform, Support and Empower—the police are focusing on awareness, public participation and strict enforcement. Awareness programmes, random drug testing, counselling and helpline support are being intensified in schools, colleges, hostels and public places.
According to official data, 22,892 NDPS cases were registered across Karnataka between 2023 and 2026, 31,271 accused were arrested, and 28,292 kg of narcotic substances worth ₹794.55 crore were seized.
The officers said that Mysuru city and district police will continue intensified enforcement, awareness campaigns and stringent action against drug peddlers and trafficking networks.
