Investigation on chopper crash begins: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh offers tributes

New Delhi, December 9, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Indian Air Force has commenced the investigation in the helicopter crash incident that took place at Coonoor in Ooty, Tamil Nadu yesterday, as informed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Providing information in the parliament about the unfortunate incident Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the chopper took off from the airbase at 11.48 am and was scheduled to land at 12.15 pm. But it lost the network at 12.08 pm and crashed. The local people saw the helicopter crash. Including CDS Bipin Rawat, a total number of 13 people have lost their lives in the incident. Group Captain Varun Singh, who was injured in the incident is being treated at the Wellington Hospital.
“We have commenced the investigation into the incident. An IAF committee has been formed to investigate. The bodies will be brought to New Delhi today evening, and will be cremated with all army respect,” he said.
