Siddaramaiah criticizes PM Modi for increase in fule prices

Shivamogga, October 23, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “When Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister diesel price was Rs. 47, today it is Rs.100. The price of petrol was Rs. 70, but today it is Rs. 110. The Govt. of India has accrued a whopping sum of Rs.23 lakh crore in the form of taxes through the sale of diesel and petrol. Whereas the total loan is Rs. 1.40 thousand crores. Why are you telling lies to the people Mr.Modi? Please tell us the truth,” said former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
He was speaking at Kubaturu in the Soraba assembly constituency in Shivamogga District. “Following the death of former leaders C.M. Udasi and M.C. Managuli byelections are being held at Sindhagi and Hanagal. The congress party is getting a very good response from the people in both the constituencies. It shows the Congress wave. The reason is that people are remembering the good administration during our Government and Manmohan Singh’s administration and the programs introduced during our period. People are fed up with Modi and his style of administration from the last seven years and the failure of the BJP government. Modi has not fulfilled the promises that he had assured when he came to power in 2014. Moreover, he is the reason for the present increase in prices of all the essential commodities,” he alleged.
“Madhu Bangarappa has done the right thing by joining the Congress party. Bangarappa became Chief Minister from the Congress party. When I joined the Congress party I also had questioned, but didn’t I become a Chief Minister? Congress party will create a future, there are always good opportunities in our party for honest workers,” he added.
