Mysuru Dasara inaugurated: Former CM S.M. Krishna recalls the contributions of major leaders to Mysuru

Mysuru, October 7, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna today inaugurated the world-famous Mysuru Dasara Mahotsav, by offering ‘Agra Puja,’ to the Goddess Chamundeshwari, atop the Chamundi Hills in Mysuru.
The 411th Dasara Mahotsav commenced with the offering of flowers by veteran politician S.M. Krishna.
In his address, the former Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude for giving him the opportunity to inaugurate the celebrations. “I am overwhelmed to inaugurate the Dasara Mahotsav. I personally feel this as one of the most memorable moments in my life. I also had the opportunity of working earlier with the present Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and also his father. I thank a lot to all those who have given this opportunity,” he said.
On the occasion, he recalled his student days, the Ontikoppal school, Mahajana School, Yuvaraja College, and Maharaja College where he studied. “I also grew in Mysuru. I daily used to see the Chamundi hills and used to fold my hands with devotion from wherever I was. In the older days, Dasara was a delight to watch. So many foreign dignitaries and guests used to come to Mysuru. The guests were honoured at the Jaganmohan Palace. There were several programs from music stalwarts like Pitilu Chowdaiah, Devendrappa and others,” he said and also recalled the contribution of stalwarts like Sir M. Visveswaraiah and Sir Mirza Ismail.
He also appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration. “Prime Minister Modi is doing very good work. He is building the nation and is taking the country in the right way forward. I have seen the administration of several great leaders. But PM Modi is exceptional. I pray the goddess Chamundeshwari to bless him and give him all the required strength to make our country stronger,” he added.
