Cyclone Tauktae effect: Rain at several places in the State

Bengaluru, May 15, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Several parts of the state witnessed rains today due to the Tauktae cyclone effect.
Several districts of the State including Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, and Dakshin Kannada are witnessing light to moderate rainfall. Heavy rainfall is reported from Moodigere, N.R. Pura, Koppa, Shringeri in Chikkamagaluru District. The District Administration has warned the people living in coastal areas and low-lying areas to be careful.
Rains were witnessed even in Shivamogga and Mysuru cities. While there was drizzling in Mysuru, heavy rains were reported from Dakshin Kannada from yesterday night. Several low-lying areas in Mangaluru urban areas have been inundated in rainwater. Important roads including Kottarachowki, K.S. Rao Road, Padeel, Anegudda, etc., were flooded with rainwater causing a problem to the movement of vehicles.
The Tauktae cyclone is a result of the pressure in the Arabian sea. A red alert has been announced in seven districts including Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Uttar Kannada, Udupi, and Kodagu.
