COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Mysuru Dist. Govt. Hospitals temporarily halted

Mysuru, June 28, 2021 ( The COVID-19 Vaccination process in government hospitals in Mysuru District, except private hospitals, has been temporarily halted as the vaccine stocks are over.
As Covishield and Covaxin doses are not being produced as per the expected numbers supply has been hit. As a result, no doses came to Mysuru resulting in the halting of the vaccination process temporarily.
It is was also planned to provide vaccination to all the staff of Colleges that come under the University of Mysore and PG students on a preferential basis, which also has been halted. Thus, the vaccination process in primary, taluk, and district hospitals has been postponed temporarily.
According to the available health department information vaccine has to be given to 51 lakh people in Mysuru District. As of now, vaccination has been provided to 12 lakh people in Mysuru District and the remaining 39 lakh people have to be provided vaccine.
While 350 doses are available in Chamarajanagara, 11,110 doses were available in Mandya and 1,920 doses are available in Kodagu. Those who can afford to spend money can still avail the doses in private hospitals based on availability.
