Bengaluru, Nov. 11, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): Chief Minister B. S. Yedyurappa today instructed the Department of Prosecutions and Government Litigations and Police Department officials to focus on increasing the prosecution percentage under the SC & STs (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, which is presently only 5% to 6%.
He was addressing the State-level Awareness and Monitoring Meeting organized by the Social Welfare Department held in Bengaluru today. He called upon the police officials to register FIRs under the atrocities act and appropriate sections. He also instructed to complete the investigations under this act within 60 days and submit chargesheet to the court strictly and also take measures to provide suitable protection to the witnesses and victims.
