Bengaluru, October 5, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “After becoming a Minister I had conducted a meeting and I had asked Sugarcane factory owners to pay the pending amount to the growers. Within three days a sum of Rs. 26.26 crore will be deposited to the government,” informed Minister Shankar Patil Munenakoppa.
Addressing a press meet today he said, “I was worried that the sugarcane growers had not received their money. After becoming the Minister I conducted meetings in Belagavi and Bengaluru. I had instructed all the factory owners to pay the pending amount. A sum of Rs. 47.17 crore was pending to the sugarcane growers’. A sum of Rs. 26.26 crore has been paid to the government within three days. A sum of Rs. 15.91 crore is pending. The Basveshwara Sugar, Core Bean Sugars have not paid. We have issued notices to them. They will also pay the amount soon. I will ensure that it doesn’t happen in the future.”
