Provide the evicted land encroached by Eagleton Resort to construct stadium: Minister Dr. Narayanagowda writes to government

Bengaluru, September 17, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Ramanagara District Administration has done commendable work. About 77 acres, 18 guntas of land which was encroached by the Eagleton resort in Bidadi has been evicted as per the Hon’ble Court orders and has been handed over to the State Government. This space is good enough to construct a stadium and sports complex. Youth Empowerment and Sports Department Minister Dr. Narayanagowda has written to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to requesting him to provide the land for the construction of a stadium at the place.
In the letter, he has mentioned that a sports complex is required for the sports aspirants of Karnataka who aspire to become international level sportspersons and take part in international sports events including Olympics, Asian games, etc. The Sports Department is also searching for a suitable place for the same and the Ramanagara District Administration has taken over the evicted land which was encroached by the Eagleton Resorts, located near Bidadi in Ramanagara District. Already there is a golf course. The land is flat and sprawling and hence is suitable for the construction of the sports complex and stadium. Moreover, it is nearby to Bengaluru. Hence, I request you to kindly hand over the 77 acres, 18 guntas land to the Sports Department.
The letter further read that the Kanteerva Stadium in Bengaluru city is presently being upgraded and so are all the stadiums in all the districts of the state. But it will be very useful for the sportspersons if a huge sports complex is built, especially nearby Bengaluru. The International Airport is also accessible from here and the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway is also being widened.
