ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು,ಜುಲೈ,10,2026 (www.justkannada.in): ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ 2026-27ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ (SC) ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡದ (ST) ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಶಿಷ್ಯವೇತನದ (ಸ್ಕಾಲರ್ಶಿಪ್) ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಬಗೆಹರಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ.ಯತೀಂದ್ರ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ ಅವರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಸಭೆ ಜರುಗಿತು.
ಸಚಿವರ ಗೃಹ ಕಛೇರಿ “ಕಾವೇರಿ”ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ನಡೆದ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದ ಸಚಿವ ಯತೀಂದ್ರ, ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಬಗೆಹರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಿನ ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ತಲಾ 58 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೆ:
ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ (ಎಂಟ್ರೆನ್ಸ್) ಉತ್ತೀರ್ಣರಾಗಿರುವ ಒಟ್ಟು 116 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಪ್ರವೇಶಾತಿ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವ ಯತೀಂದ್ರ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಆದರೆ, ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಚಾಮರಾಜನಗರ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಗಳು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳ ಕೊರತೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಇಷ್ಟೊಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಹೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಭರಿಸಲು ಹಾಗೂ ಇಷ್ಟು ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಕಾಲರ್ ಶಿಪ್ ನೀಡಲು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಪತಿಗಳು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹಾಯಕತೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ. ಯತೀಂದ್ರ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ ಅವರು, ಒಟ್ಟು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 58 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ಉಳಿದ 58 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಸ್ಕಾಲರ್ ಶಿಪ್ ಹಂಚಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಜಂಟಿ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಲು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು. ಸಚಿವರ ಈ ಸೂಕ್ತ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಮತ್ತು ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಿದರು.

ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಶೋಧಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಘದ ಮುಖಂಡರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸಚಿವ ಯತೀಂದ್ರ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ, “ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೈಡ್ ಗಳು (ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕರು) ತಮ್ಮ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಮೀರಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಾಗಿಯೇ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಉದ್ಭವಿಸಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥೈಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಹಕಾರ ನೀಡಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಚಿವರ ಈ ಸಕಾಲಿಕ ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೂಕ್ತ ನಿರ್ಧಾರದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಸಂಶೋಧಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಶಿಷ್ಯವೇತನದ ಗೊಂದಲಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಖದಾಂತ್ಯ ಸಿಕ್ಕಂತಾಗಿದೆ. 
ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ತುಳಸಿ ಮದ್ದಿನೇನಿ, ಸಮಾಜ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳಾದ ಮೋಹನ್ ರಾಜ್, ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿಗಳು ಡಾ. ಲೋಕನಾಥ್, ಮತ್ತಿತರರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah Intervenes and Takes Initiative to Resolve Scholarship Issue of SC/ST Research Scholars of the University of Mysore

A high-level meeting chaired by Karnataka’s Urban Development Minister, Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, was held on Friday at his official residence, “Kaveri,” to address the scholarship issue concerning Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) research scholars admitted to the University of Mysore for the academic year 2026–27.
During the meeting, the Minister brought the concerns and demands of the research scholars to the attention of senior officials and directed them to resolve the issue without delay.
Scholarship Support for All 116 Eligible Students
Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah instructed the officials to ensure that all 116 candidates who had qualified in the entrance examination are granted admission.
However, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore explained that following the bifurcation of Mandya and Chamarajanagar into separate universities, the University of Mysore is facing financial constraints and is therefore unable to bear the entire scholarship burden for all eligible research scholars.
To resolve the issue, the Minister proposed a practical and mutually acceptable solution. He directed the authorities to arrive at a joint arrangement under which scholarships for 58 students would be provided by the Department of Social Welfare, while the University of Mysore would extend scholarship support to the remaining 58 students. Officials from both the Higher Education Department and the Social Welfare Department responded positively to the proposal.
Minister Advises Rational Allocation of Research Guides
The Minister also interacted with the research scholars and representatives of their association. During the discussion, he observed that several research guides had admitted students beyond their academic capacity, which had contributed to the present situation.
He advised that in future, admissions should be aligned with the capacity of research guides and the availability of institutional resources to prevent similar issues. He also appealed to the students to understand the prevailing circumstances and extend their cooperation.
The Minister’s timely intervention and balanced decision have paved the way for resolving the scholarship issue faced by the research scholars.
The meeting was attended by Tulasi Maddineni, Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department; Mohan Raj, Principal Secretary to the Government, Department of Social Welfare; Dr. Lokanath, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore; and other senior officials.
