ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು,ಜುಲೈ,2,2026 (www.justkannada.in): ಅಜ್ಞಾತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲೋ ಚೆಲ್ಲಾಪಿಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ವಚನ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ತಂದ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯು ಫ.ಗು.ಹಳಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವರಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಶರಣ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ, ಲಿಂಗಾಯತ ಧರ್ಮ, ಬಸವಾದಿ ಶರಣರು ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಕಳೆದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು’ ಎಂದು ಬೃಹತ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮಧ್ಯಮ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಚಿವ ಎಂ.ಬಿ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮುದ್ರಣಕಾರರ ಸಂಘ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಜಯಪುರದ ಫ.ಗು.ಹಳಕಟ್ಟಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಜತೆಗೂಡಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದ ಹಳಕಟ್ಟಿ ಜನ್ಮ ದಿನ ಮತ್ತು ವಚನ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಚಿವ ಎಂ.ಬಿ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಧಾರವಾಡ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಹಳಕಟ್ಟಿಯವರು ವಿಜಯಪುರವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅಗಾಧ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರಿಂದಾಗಿ ನೂರಾರು ವಚನಕಾರರು ನಾಡಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಮುದ್ರಣಾಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ ಸಾಹಸಿಗಳೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದರು ಎಂದು ಎಂ.ಬಿ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಿದರು.
ಸರಕಾರವು ಬಸವಕಲ್ಯಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನೂತನ ಅನುಭವ ಮಂಟಪವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೇನಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶರಣ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪರಿಷತ್ತು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಕಾರದ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿ, ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಾಹಿತಿ ಗೊ.ರು.ಚನ್ನಬಸಪ್ಪ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಹಳಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರಿಂದಾಗಿ ವಿಶ್ವಗುರು ಬಸವಣ್ಣ ಮುಂತಾದವರು ಗೊತ್ತಾದರು. ವಚನ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಇಂದು ಹೆಮ್ಮರವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಲು ಅವರೇ ಮೂಲ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ನೆನೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ವಚನ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಹಳಕಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಪಸರಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಎಂ.ಬಿ.ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಬಿಎಲ್ ಡಿಇ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಮಾಜಿ ಉಪ ಮೇಯರ್ ಪುಟ್ಟರಾಜು, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಮುಖಂಡ ಮಲ್ಲಿಕಾರ್ಜುನ, ಮುದ್ರಣಕಾರರ ಸಂಘದ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಅಶೋಕ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಸ್ವ್ಯಾನ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಮರಳವಾಡಿ ಶಿವಶಂಕರ್, ಮಲ್ಲಿಕಾರ್ಜುನ, ಫಾಲನೇತ್ರ, ರಾಜಶೇಖರ ಮುಂತಾದವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

Pha. Gu. Halakatti Was Instrumental in Bringing Vachana Literature to Public Attention: M.B. Patil
Bengaluru: Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil on Thursday said the credit for collecting and bringing to public attention Vachana literature, which had remained scattered and largely unknown, belongs to Pha. Gu. Halakatti. “Had it not been for his tireless efforts, the Sharana tradition, the Lingayat faith, and the legacy of Basavanna and other Sharanas might well have been lost,” he said.
He was speaking at a programme organised at his residence here by the Karnataka State Printers’ Association in association with the Pha. Gu. Halakatti Research Centre, Vijayapura, to commemorate Halakatti’s birth anniversary and Vachana Preservation Day.
Patil said Halakatti, who hailed from the Dharawada region, made Vijayapura the centre of his life’s work and made an immense contribution to Kannada literature. It was through his efforts that hundreds of Vachanakaras became known to the people. He also described Halakatti as a pioneer who had the foresight and courage to establish a printing press.
The Sharana Sahitya Parishat has submitted suggestions on the facilities and activities that should be incorporated at the new Anubhava Mantapa being built at Basavakalyana, he noted. These recommendations would be discussed at the Government level and implemented, he assured.
Senior litterateur Go.Ru. Channabasappa said it was because of Halakatti’s dedicated efforts that Jagajyoti Basavanna and other Sharanas became widely known to the people of Karnataka. He recalled that Halakatti laid the foundation for the Vachana tradition to flourish into the rich and enduring legacy it is today.
He appreciated the BLDE Association, led by M.B. Patil, for carrying forward Halakatti’s mission by taking Vachana literature to a wider audience. “If Halakatti collected and preserved Vachana literature, the BLDE institution is now disseminating it far and wide,” he remarked.
C. Somashekhar and C.R. Janardhan, President of the All India Printers’ Association, also addressed the gathering.
Former Deputy Mayor Puttaraju, Congress leader Mallikarjun, and office-bearers of the Printers’ Association, including Ashok Kumar, Swan Krishnamurthy, Maralawadi Shivashankar, Mallikarjuna, Phalanetra and Rajashekhara, were present on the occasion.
