Virtual conference on Inter-State water dispute: Helpful to arrive at a clear stand – CM Basavaraj Bommai

Bengaluru, January 22, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today informed that a virtual conference is on the cards to discuss the Krishna and Kaveri river water disputes and it will help in arriving at a clear stand.
Speaking to the media persons today, he informed that senior advocates representing the State, Advocate General, and irrigation technical experts would participate in the virtual conference. “Our state is in the middle, hence the neighboring states have inculcated a habit of filing cases frequently when it comes to sharing the river water. As all of you know, the tribunals have already given several orders. The Bachawat order and Brijesh Mishra orders concerning the Krishna river are also pronounced, only notification is pending. Though the tribunal orders have been announced concerning the Mahadayi river water sharing, a case has been put in the Hon’ble Supreme Court again. All these matters will be discussed in the virtual meeting, and serious efforts will be made to find solutions to the problems,” he informed.
