Protest over shifting of NTMS School in Mysuru: Several including a former MLA arrested

Mysuru, February 4, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Members of the ‘Save NTMS School,’ and Congress activists and leaders today demonstrated against the State Government condemning the shifting of NTMS school in the city.
The protest was held under the leadership of former MLA M.K. Somashekar in front of the school. The police arrested the former MLA and several other protestors. Later they were released and were allowed to stage a peaceful protest.
The classes were conducted at the Maharani Government Teachers’ Training Institute amidst tight police bundobust. DDPI Ramachandra Raje Urs distributed sweets to the students. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “We have shifted the school as per government orders. This is the original building of the NTMS school. It was started here, and it has returned here now. It is functioning under the name Government Maharani Model Higher Primary School. It has all facilities. The Education Minister has informed us that he has prepared a proposal to the government for the overall development of the school. NTMS school is not closed it has continued,” he explained.
