ಮೈಸೂರು, ಜುಲೈ,7,2026 (www.justkannada.in): 2026ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ನಾಡಹಬ್ಬ ಮೈಸೂರು ದಸರಾ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತಿಗೋಡು, ದುಬಾರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಮಪುರ ಆನೆ ಶಿಬಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ 20ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಆನೆಗಳ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ತಪಾಸಣೆಯನ್ನು ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ತಂಡ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
ಆನೆಗಳ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ರಕ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಮಲದ ಮಾದರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರಯೋಗಾಲಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಿಬಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹೆಣ್ಣಾನೆಗಳ ಗರ್ಭಧಾರಣೆಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಟ್ರಾಸೌಂಡ್ ಸ್ಕ್ಯಾನಿಂಗ್ ಮೂಲಕ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಆನೆಗಳ ಹೃದಯ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ತಪಾಸಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಇಸಿಜಿ (ECG) ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಪ್ರಯೋಗಾಲಯಗಳ ವರದಿಗಳು ಬಂದ ಬಳಿಕ ಉಪ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ತಂಡವಿವಿಧ ಆನೆ ಶಿಬಿರಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ದಸರಾ ಆನೆಗಳ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಿದೆ. ಬಳಿಕ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕವಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ಆನೆಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಮಾಹಿತಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಮಟ್ಟದ ದಸರಾ ಆನೆಗಳ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಸಮಿತಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.
ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ, ವಿಜಯದಶಮಿ ದಿನ ನಡೆಯುವ ಜಂಬೂಸವಾರಿ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಸುಮಾರು 20 ದಿನ ತಡವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ದಸರಾ ಆನೆಗಳ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯೂ ಕಳೆದ ಸಾಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ತಡವಾಗಿ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮೈಸೂರು ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಉಪ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರಭುಗೌಡ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Dasara Elephant Health Check-Up Begins; ECG Tests Introduced
Mysuru, July 7: As part of the 2026 Mysuru Dasara preparations, a team of veterinarians has conducted health check-ups for over 20 elephants at Mattigodu, Dubare, and Rampura elephant camps.
Blood and dung samples have been collected and sent to laboratories for analysis. Pregnancy tests for female elephants are being carried out using ultrasound scanning. For the first time, ECG tests are also being conducted to assess the elephants’ heart health.
After receiving laboratory reports, a team led by the Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Mysuru, will visit the camps to begin the elephant selection process. The provisional list of selected elephants will be submitted to the State-Level Dasara Elephant Selection Committee.
Officials said the selection process will begin later than last year, as the Vijayadashami Jumboo Savari procession is scheduled about 20 days later than in 2025.
