Manasa Gangotri major lung space of Mysuru: Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar

Mysuru, June 5, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore observed that the Manasa Gangotri is one of the major lung spaces of Mysuru city and wished it will be maintained in the same way in the future also.
He inaugurated the ‘World Environment Day celebrations organized by the Institute of Development Studies, University of Mysore, by planting a sapling on the Manasa Gangotri campus.
“The Manasa Gantori, which is full of greenery is located in the center of the city. It has been a major lung space for the people of the city. The people of the city can get good quality air because of this. The saplings which were planted several years ago have grown and are providing air and shelter today. This environment and greenery should be maintained in the same way in the future also,” he said.
“Everyone should think about how to protect the environment and save planet earth. We are suffering today because of several anti-environmental activities done by people earlier. Hence, we all should think about not repeating those mistakes and protecting the environment for future generations,” he added.
Institute of Development Studies Director D.M. Mahesh, Professors Mangala, Chetan, Meera, and others were present.
