Addressing the beneficiaries on the occasion he said, “Thousands of people have lost their lives due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, especially in the second wave. It is indeed very unfortunate to learn that even the tribal people who are living in remote areas have not been spared by the deadly virus. the University of Mysore has decided to help the people who are suffering during this pandemic period. All the villages that come under the six Gram Panchayat limits in Hanur Taluk have been adopted under the Government of India’s programs like the ‘Unnata Bharata Abhiyan Yojane’ and ‘Smart Village’ program and efforts are being made to develop them.”

“Food and medical kits are being distributed to the Ashrama School teachers and staff members, ASHA and anganwadi activists and volunteers as part of this program. People should be careful about this virus. Nobody should hesitate to take the COVID vaccination. NGOs and CSOs should make efforts to create awareness among the people about this,” he informed.

Taluk level Tribal Welfare Officer Manjula, Unnata Baharata Yojana, and Smart Village Program Coordinating Officer Dr. H.P. Jyothi, Soliga Development Association Secretary Muttaiah, and others were present on the occasion.
