University of Mysore signs an MoU with KSCST, Bengaluru

Mysuru, June 23, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, signed an MoU with the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology of Bengaluru, at a program held at the Crawford Hall in Mysuru today.

Speaking after signing the MoU, Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar said, “the University of Mysore has completed 105 years. The University has done several research works. Earlier the research work was limited only for research paper. But from the last 10-15 years patents are also being obtained for our research works. It commenced in 2013, till now we have obtained 20 patents. There are 1,200 professors working under our university. The IPR division is working to get patents for our research works. As of now 7-8 research works have reached taking patent level. We are sure of getting it,” he said.

“More research works that will be useful for public is required. Today an MoU has been signed and the experts from Bengaluru Science and Technology team will impart training and they will also provide financial assistance. This will help professors and students of science and other subjects,” he added.

Dr. Hemanth Kumar, Executive Secretary, Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Bengaluru expressed his view that training on intellectual property would be imparted according to this MoU. “Professors and students innovative thoughts will be encouraged, apart from cooperating to get patents. Plans are also made to encourage programs under the Atmanirbhar Bharat, Skill India and Making India. We aim to establish a creative and strong citizens for the country. This MoU will also help in creating job opportunities,” he observed.

Prof. Mewa Singh, PMEB Director Dr. Loknath, Vignana Bhavana Coordinating Officer Dr. Chandra Nayak, Assistant Professor Dr. C.T. Mohan and others were present.
