Task force submits report on NEP implementation

Bengaluru, Nov. 30, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): The National Education Policy (NEP) task force, headed by former Chief Secretary S.V. Ranganath today submitted the report on the implementation of NEP in Karnataka.
The Govt. of India has come up with its own National Education Policy after 175 years. Karnataka has played an important role in preparing this. The overall objective of NEP is ensuring more stress on education by the government as well as society.

School Education
• KSSEC and SSA’s shall ensure separation of controlling of schools and operations;
• Reformation of DSERT;
• Attracting funds under Corporation Social Responsibility, for activities like gender inclusiveness and specially-abled funds;
• Establishing a sufficient number of special education zones;
• Providing a uniform platform for all kinds of scholarships and establishing scholarships for specially-abled;
Higher Education
• Implementing the new Karnataka State Universities (KSU) Act;
• Establishing Karnataka Higher Education Commission (KHEC) by introducing a new Act.
• Identify special educational zones and its establishment;
• Brining all scholarships applicable for economically and socially backward groups (ESBG) under a single platform;
• Commencing the process of ranked strengthening of affiliated and autonomous colleges
