ಮೈಸೂರು, ಜ.10, 2019 : (www.justkannada.in news) : ಶಿಥಿಲಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲಾ ಕಟ್ಟಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ನೆರವಿಗೆ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಳೇಯ ರೈಲು ಬೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನೇ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಕೊಠಡಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಕಲಿಕಾ ವಾತಾವರಣ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದೆ.
ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಅಶೋಕಪುರಂ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವರ್ಕ್ ಶಾಪ್ ನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ಶಿಥಿಲಗೊಂಡು ಮುಚ್ಚುವ ಹಂತ ತಲುಪಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಬಡ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದವರು. ಶಾಲೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಿ ಹೊಸ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ಕಟ್ಟಲು ವರ್ಷಗಳೇ ಬೇಕಾದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಈ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವೇನು ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಉದ್ಭವಿಸಿತು.
ಆಗಲೇ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಇದ್ದ ಸ್ಕ್ರಾಪ್ (ಅನುಪಯುಕ್ತ) ಬೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನೇ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಶಾಲಾ ಕೊಠಡಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಯಿತು. ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಇದೀಗ ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಕೊಠಡಿಗಳು ಸಿದ್ಧಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಖತ್ ಖುಷಿ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ನಲಿ-ಕಲಿ ಬೋಧಿಸಲು ಸೂಕ್ತ ವಾತಾವರಣ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿರುವ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ, ಬೋಗಿಗಳ ಹೊರ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮನೋವಿಕಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾದ ಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರ ಜ್ಞಾನಾರ್ಜನೆಗೂ ಒತ್ತು ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಈ ಅಪರೂಪದ ರೈಲು ಬೋಗಿ ಶಾಲಾ ಕೊಠಡಿ ಜ.11 ರಂದು ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದೆ. ಶನಿವಾರ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 9 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ವಲಯದ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಾರ ಕಾಲೋನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರೈಲು ಬೋಗಿಗಳು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸಿಂಗಾರಗೊಂಡು ಸಜ್ಜಾಗಿವೆ.

The paucity of funds need not be a hindrance to provide formal education. Yes. This is a fact when we look at the initiative taken by the unit of Indian Railways, Mysuru.
The Railways have come forward to help students of a Karnataka government school who were studying in a dilapidated building. Old four railway bogies (compartments), which were scrapped, have been converted into attractive classrooms to accommodate students. The government higher primary school building which was in a dilapidated condition at the railway workshop of Ashokpuram, Mysuru, was about to be wound-up. A majority of the students in this school are economically weaker. It was planned to shift the school to a new building that is yet to be constructed. As the process would be time-consuming, the authorities were concerned about how to run the school until the new building is ready. Then the Railways hit upon the idea of converting its old unused compartments into classrooms. Now the classrooms are ready to welcome the students.
An ideal environment has been created to implement the concept of Nali-Kali (learn while you play) by the Railways. Outside of the bogies have paintings that are in tune with children’s psychology. This also serves as a knowledge source for the students. There are separate toilets for boys and girls outside the compartments are situated.
These unusual railway compartments turned into the classrooms are going to be inaugurated on January 11, 9 am. The event will be held at the north division of the railway colony. The compartments are all decked up to invite the students.
Where there is a will there is a way, isn’t it?
Some years ago the BMTC scrapped buses were converted into mobile schools to cater to the education needs of children of construction workers. Tilaknagar had the first such mobile bus school.
