ಮೈಸೂರು, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 30, 2022(www.justkannada.in): ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಆವರಣ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ಲಭಿಸಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಅವರು ಮಿಷನ್ ಇನ್ನೋವೇಷನ್ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ, ಯೂನಿವರ್ಸಿಟಿ ಕರಿಯರ್ ಹಬ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನೆ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಯೋಜನಾ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಯ ಕಳೆದಂತಹ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಜಿ. ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸಿ, ಅವರು ತಯಾರಿಸಿದಂತಹ ಪ್ರೋಟೊಪೈಪ್‌ ಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಶಿಲಿಸಿ, ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಆವರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವ ರೀತಿ ಅವು ಉಪಯೋಗವಾಗಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಅಂದಾಜಿಸಿದರು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಯಾರಿಸಿರುವಂತಹ ಕೆಲವು ಪ್ರೋಟೊಟೈಪ್‌ ಗಳನ್ನು (ಮಾದರಿಗಳು) ಗಮನಿಸಿ, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಆಯೋಜಿನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿರುವಂತಹ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಬೆರಗಾದರು.
ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಒಂದು ಅಂಗವಾಗಿರುವ ಯೂನಿವರ್ಸಿಟಿ ಕರಿಯರ್ ಹಬ್, ತನ್ನ ಮಿಷನ್ ಇನ್ನೋವೇಷನ್ ಮೈಸೂರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮೂಲಕ, ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಡಿ ಬರುವ ಚಾಮರಾಜನಗರ, ಕೆ.ಆರ್. ನಗರ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾನಸ ಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿಯ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಾರ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 100 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಈ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಜುಲೈ 2022ರಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿ ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ಸಪ್ತಾಹದಂದು ವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ 2 ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ರೈತ ತೊಂದರೆ ಬಗೆಹರಿಸುವ ಶಿಬಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ, ರೈತರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು, ಆವರಣ ಹಸಿರೀಕರಣ, ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತಹ ನಿರ್ಧಿಷ್ಟವಾದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ವಿಷಯ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಗೆಹರಿಸುವ ಮಾದರಿಗಳ ತಯಾರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಆವರಣ ಹಸಿರೀಕರಣವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಆವರಣದ ಹಾಲಿ ಹಸಿರಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಹಾಗೂ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಅಂದಾಜಿಸಿ, ಸೀಡ್‌ ಬಾಲ್ ರಚನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಟರ್‌ ಫ್ಲೈ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಗಳ ರಚನೆಯ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಉತ್ತಮ ಆವರಣ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆ ವರ್ಗದಡಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು, ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು, ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಮರಬಳಕೆ ತಂತ್ರಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ನಡೆಸಿ, ಸೂಕ್ತ ಮಾದರಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಶೌಚಾಲಯದ ನೈರ್ಮಲ್ಯ ವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಹಲವು ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಆವಿಷ್ಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಬಸ್ಸುಗಳ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ನಿವಾರಣೆಗಾಗಿ, ಅಂದರೆ ಕೆಲವು ಕಡೆ ಬಸ್ಸುಗಳು ನಿಲುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡದೇ ಇರುವಂತಹ ನಿರ್ಧಿಷ್ಟವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಬಗೆಹರಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿಕಟವಾದ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸುದೀರ್ಘವಾದ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ, ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳ ನಿಗಧಿತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಪಿಜಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಆವರಣಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಆ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುವಂತ ಬಸ್ಸುಗಳು ನಿಲುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇ, ಇಲ್ಲವೇ? ಎಂಬ ಕುರಿತು ಲೈವ್ ಆಗಿ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಿದರು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ರೈತ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿರುವ ಅನೇಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕೃಷಿಕರ ಕೆಲಸಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಜೀವನಶೈಲಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅತೀವ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಈ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ರೈತರು ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನದ ನ್ಯಾಯಯುತ ಬೆಲೆ ನಿಗಧಿಪಡಿಸುವಿಕೆ, ಅಂತರ್ಜಲ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯ, ಗ್ರಾಹಕರಿಗೆ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿಸುವ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳು, ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳಂತಹ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾದ ಪರಿಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ಸಮಾಜ ಕಾರ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಡಾ. ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಪಿ ಅವರು ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಎಂಐಎಂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೈಜ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜದ ಮೇಲೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ರಚಿಸುವ ಕುರಿತು ಉತ್ತಮ ಒಳನೋಟಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಿಂದ ೨೧ನೇ ಶತಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಧ ಗಮನ ಲಭಿಸಿದಂತಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

University of Mysore offers its students opportunity to works towards its betterment says Vice Chancellor
‘Students of University of Mysore will now have an opportunity to contribute to the betterment of their University’s Campus’ shared Vice Chancellor Prof. Hemanth Kumar, he was attending a student project exhibition part of Mission Innovation Mysuru at University Career Hub yesterday. He spent quality time with the students understanding problem statements, reviewing prototypes, and evaluated the impact of these projects for the larger good of the Campus and was amazed at the way the hidden potential of student was being unleashed by this program
The University Career Hub, a wing of the University through its Mission Innovation Mysuru program, engaged about 100 students of the department of studeis in social work from Manasagangothri, Chamarajanagar, K R Nagara, and Mandya in Cohort2. These students spent 2 days every alternate week in a structured problem solving workshop from July 2022. Students worked on prototypes addressing problems under four specific themes Farmer problems, Campus green cover, Campus cleanliness, and Transportation woes
To enhance green cover of the campus students audited and mapped the existing green cover , worked on creating seedball and created butterfly parks.
To better campus cleanliness- students worked on identifying plastic waste zones, and to reduce the plastic footprint better collection and plastic recycling techniques were evaluated and prototypes implemented, they also worked on measures to improve washroom hygiene.
To resolve the issue of buses not stopping at designated spots- students worked closely with the officials of the public transport department, monitored if public bus stopped at designated points on routes connecting the different University’s Mandya P G Centre campuses to areas in and around where students live
Many students in the University come from families with farming backgrounds. Their passion for the farming community got them to understand and work on solutions addressing the issue of fair pricing, underground water pollution, making available good quality produce directly to the consumers .
Dr Jyothi H P , Chairman of the Dos in Social work said that the MIM program has been greatly supporting the department’s interest to get students to go deeper in solving real life problems and creating an impact to the society . She also shared that a clear focus on developing the 21st Century skills was a derived benefit of this program
