ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಕೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುದುಗಿರುವ ‘ ಜೋಡಿ ನಂದಿ ‘ ವಿಗ್ರಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿದೆಯಾ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸತ್ಯ…!

ಮೈಸೂರು, ಜು.15, 2019 : (www.justkannada.in news) ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅರಸನ ಕೆರೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಜಮೀನೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ಹುದುಗಿದ್ದ ಎರಡು ಬೃಹತ್ ನಂದಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹ ಇದೀಗ ಗೋಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ.

ಈ ನಂದಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳವು ಎಂಬುದು ಅರಸನ ಕೆರೆ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರ ಅಭಿಮತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕಳೆದ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಮಯದಿಂದ ಗೋಚರಿಸಿದೆ ಇದೀಗ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದೆ.

ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸುಮಾರು ನಲವತ್ತೈದು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದಿಯೇ ಈ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳು ಮಣ್ಣಲ್ಲಿ ಹುದುಗಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕುರುಹು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತ್ತು. ಆಗ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರೆಲ್ಲರು ಸೇರಿ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿದ್ದ ನಂದಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರ ತೆಗೆಯಲು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ವಿಫಲವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಹಳ್ಳದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಈ ನಂದಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ದಶಕಗಳ ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು. ಇದೀಗ ಈ ನಂದಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳ ಜತೆಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು ಹತ್ತರಿಂದ ಹದಿನೈದು ಇತರೆ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳು ಸಹ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿವೆ,

ಖುದ್ದು ಮಹಾರಾಜ್ರೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ರು :

ಬೃಹತ್ ನಂದಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳು ಹುದುಗಿರುವ ಈ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಖುದ್ದು ಮಹಾರಾಜ ಚಾಮರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಅವರೇ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ದಶಕಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಚಾಮರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಅವರು ಈ ಅರಸಿನ ಕೆರೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಮಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುದುಗಿರುವ ನಂದಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹ ಹೊರ ತೆಗೆಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದ್ದರು.

Centuries-old, Face-To-Face Nandi statues Buried Under Earth Excavated near Mysuru

Mysore: Two statues of Nandi Bull carved out of monolithic soapstone, have been unearthed from a dried lake bed in Arasinakere about 20 km from Mysore in Karnataka.
It is reported that the excavation work has been carried out by the local residents. According to the elders of Arasinakere , Whenever the water level in the lake was low, it was said that the head of the statues was visible. After the river dried up in its entireentire area this year, local residents tried to dig the site and find out the truth.
locals excavated the lake for three to four days. During this period they used JCB machine to carry out the excavation work.

The statues are carved out of a single rock. The statues are incomplete. While one appears to be 60% completed, the other is at about 85%, The statues were also not identical in size. While the larger one is around 15 feet in length and 12 feet in height, the smaller one is more compact according to locals.
Interestingly, the name of the village Arasinakere, translated to English means ‘King’s Lake’. Villagers say that the Lake was frequently visited by Jayachamaraja Wadiyar during the fag end of his rule.
Locals also claim that the late Maharaja of Mysore, Sri Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar, tried to unearth the statues by deploying men and material. However, the labourers had to be abandon the task because of the rising water level in the lake.
The statues were found facing each other, which has roused curiosity among the villagers and people in surrounding areas, who have started thronging the spot.
