Govt. of India withdraws its appeal submitted to SC seeking stay on ‘tractor rally’ on Jan. 26


New Delhi, Jan. 20, 2021 ( The Government of India which had submitted an appeal in the Hon’ble Supreme Court requesting a stay order for the ‘Tractor Rally’ to be held on January 26, has withdrawn its application. The Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice S.A. Bobade and Justice S. Bopanna and V. Ramasubramanian has ordered police intervention in the call for a tractor rally given by the farmers’ organisations on Republic Day.
The SC Bench conduct the trial through video conferencing. It stated that “We won’t give any directions regarding the rally. This is related to the Police Department. We allow you to withdraw the appeal.” The Govt. of India withdrew its appeal submitted to the SC through the police requesting a stay order to the rally.
