Govt. drops plan to privatise MySugar factory: CM announces to start the factory from next year

Bengaluru, October 18, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The State Government has dropped the idea of privatising the MySugar factory in Mandya. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced that the factory will start functioning from next year.
In a meeting held under the leadership of the Chief Minister today, it was decided to run the factory under government aid. At last, the State Government has surrendered at least temporarily to the elected representatives and farmers’ pressure by stepping away from privatising the MySugar factory.
Speaking after the meeting today, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai informed all necessary measures will be taken to commence the factory from next year. “An expert committee will be formed immediately for the revival of the MySugar factory. All necessary preparations will be made for its rejuvenation. Appointment of an administrative officer, releasing of required funds for machinery repair and other purposes will be done soon,” he added.
