Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot calls to contribute knowledge to the nation

Mysuru, March 23, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “The objective of the higher education sector is to prepare the youth to face the future challenges of mankind apart from creating knowledge,” opined the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka Sri Thawar Chand Gehlot.
He inaugurated the 96th Annual Conference and a national seminar on the topic, “Understanding the Sustainable Development Goals through Higher Educational System,” organized by the University of Mysore, in association with the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, in Mysuru today.
“The major objective of education is gaining knowledge. Education shows the way for overall progress. Education is essential for innovations. The Government of India has introduced the new National Education Policy – 2020 in achieving these objectives,” he observed.
“The NEP-2020 provides proper opportunities, and helps our country in emerging as the ‘Vishwaguru’ in the real sense by becoming stronger with moral values. In this regard, the educational institutions should work towards providing required education and opportunities to the youth. We all should walk together in getting back the ‘Vishwaguru’ title once again,” he added.
“The Universities are providing excellent service in the educational sector. Overall development of the country is the aim of the Govt. of India. Everyone should cooperate with the government by joining hands and make the country self-dependent,” he said.
Hon’ble Vice-President of India Sri Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the conference virtually and addressed. Dr. G. Tiruvasagam, Chairperson, Association of Indian Universities, Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore. Smt. Dr. Pankaj MIttal, Principal Secretary, AIU, Shivappa, Registrar, UoM and others were present.
