Dikila – First girl of Sikkim tribe to earn a Ph.D.

Mysuru, Mar.08, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Dikila, a native of Sikkim, belonging to the ‘Bhutia’ tribe of the North-Eastern state Sikkim has earned a Ph.D. in Journalism from the University of Mysore. She has become the first girl from Sikkim to get a Ph.D. in this division. She got a PG degree in Journalism from the CMR College in Bengaluru in the year 2015. She did her Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. N. Mamatha, Assistant Professor, Journalism Department, University of Mysore. She earned a Ph.D. for her thesis, ‘Newspaper and Democracy in the State of Sikkim.’ She is presently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Journalism Department, at Jain University in Bengaluru.tribe-girl-dikila-received-phd-from-mysore-university-journalism.
