Demand for battery operated vehicle in Manasagangotri

Mysuru, January 11, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Two soundless, pollution-free battery-operated vehicles used by the University of Mysore have gained popularity and demand among the students.
Manasagangotri is a huge campus, full of greenery. To protect the environment and make air pollution-free, the University of Mysore has come up with a unique idea of using battery-operated vehicles called ‘E Cart’. These E carts are offered to the students and parents who want to visit different departments. Services are provided free of cost. Presently only two carts are being used.
Each cart has a seating capacity of 9 people. The University of Mysore purchased two E-carts that are helping the students and the parents to visit one department to the other. These carts serve them from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm and are completely free of cost.
Students say, “Earlier we used to get let in returning to the classes after having breakfast. But due to these battery-operated e-carts, our problem has been solved. It also helps in transporting parents inside the campus. We would like to thank the University for making this special arrangement.”
One cart will be usually parked near the Kuvempu bust at the Southern entrance of the Manasagangotri campus, and the other will be parked near the Vignana Bhavana. Students will have the mobile numbers of the drivers, who attend to their calls and take them wherever they want at a phone call.
“Several senior citizens and parents visit our campus to see their children. As the campus is quite huge, they find it difficult to walk from one end to the other. Noticing this, we have introduced these unique services for their benefit. If the demand increases, we will plan to introduce two more vehicles,” opined Prof. G. Hemanthkumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
