Vijayapura, October 21, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy today strongly criticized the BJP for being biased against minorities.
Addressing the media, he observed that while the BJP says that Muslims should be driven away from the country, on the other hand, it says it has helped them. “They are also asking to vote for them. That is what is called dual policy.”
“The BJP, which claims that Muslims should support them, should also treat them equally, isn’t it? But it doesn’t treat them equally. How can they seek votes from them?” he questioned.
He also observed that the Congress and BJP had equally neglected the Sindhagi constituency. “When we look at the condition of this constituency, all the parties should bow their heads. Apart from the irrigation projects contributed by H.D. Devegowda when he was the Prime Minister and programs undertaken when I was the Chief Minister, no development has taken place there,” he said.
“When I was the Chief Minister for 14 months, I had given a sum of Rs. 1,400 crore grants for the Sindhagi constituency. If H.D. Devegowda wasn’t there, today people wouldn’t have grown paddy and sugarcane,” he added.
