Action against varsity registrars who give reasons for the implementation of UUCMS: Minister Ashwathnarayana

Bengaluru, August 19, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “Measures have been taken to implement the Unified University and College Management System (UUCMS) in Government Varsities. Action will be initiated against the registrars who delay or refuse in implementing it by giving reasons. Such officers will also be suspended from duty,” observed Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathanarayana.
He addressed a meeting of the Registrars of all the Universities of the State, at the Vikasa Soudha today. He instructed that in case the registrar of any university fails in carrying out the duty properly, the Vice-Chancellors should report it. “UUCMS is a gift of technology. It helps in managing the varsity works with less manpower and expenditure. Hence, nobody should give reasons for implementing it,” he warned.
“Semester exams have been completed and results have been announced in several varsities. However, in a few varsities evaluation has not been done even though exams are over, and results are also not announced. All these processes should be completed in one month,” he instructed.
“Video conferencing is organized daily to clarify all the doubts regarding the usage of UUCMS. If there are any problems you can bring them to my notice. But you cannot escape or avoid it,” he warned.
Higher Education Department Principal Secretary Rashmi Mahesh, College and Technical Education Department Commissioner P. Pradeep, and other officers were present at the meeting.
