UoM: Several decisions taken in the meeting held under MP Pratap Simha

Mysuru, March 3, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The University of Mysore conducted a meeting at the Crawford Hall in Mysuru today, under the leadership of Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha where a detailed discussion was held and several important decisions were taken.
A decision was taken to meet the officials concerned of the Govt. of India and ministers, to discuss getting approval for the proposal to construct own building for the Shaastreeya Kannada Atyunnata Kendra and providing other facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore informed that a place behind the PG Hostel in the Manasagangotri campus was given to construct the Kannada Research Centre building. “but as the officials concerned observed that the place is not sufficient a decision was taken to provide space on the first floor of the NCHS building along with full-fledged rooms and then shift the research center there. Again in the Syndicate meeting held in September 2020, it was decided to provide 4.2 acres land opposite the pumphouse in the Gangotri campus on lease basis.”
“Already an agreement has been entered between the CIIL and UoM and it has been forwarded to the Human Resources Development Ministry, Govt. of India for an MoU with the University of Mysore,” he explained.
