ಹಿಂದಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಈ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಶ್ರವಣಶಕ್ತಿ ತಪಾಸಣೆಗೆ ಎರಡೂ ಕಿವಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವಿರುವ ಇಯರ್‌ಫೋನ್‌ಗಳಿರುವುದು ಅಗತ್ಯ.

ಈ ಎಹೆಚ್‌ಎಸ್ ಆ್ಯಪ್, ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಧ್ವನಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪದಗಳ ಗುಂಪನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ (ಒಂದರ ನಂತರ ಒಂದು). ಬಳಕೆದಾರರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೊಬೈಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳಿಸುವ ಪದವನ್ನು ಆ್ಯಪ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು (ಒಟ್ಟು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಆಯ್ಕೆಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ). ಈ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ‘ PASS ‘ ಅಥವಾ ‘ Refer to nearby audiological Centers ‘ (ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಶ್ರವಣ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ) ಎಂಬ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಏನಾದರೂ ಶ್ರವಣದೋಷ ಕಂಡು ಬಂದರೆ ಬಳಕೆದಾರರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ತಪಾಸಣೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಶ್ರವಣ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಈ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ಶ್ರವಣದೋಷಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ತಪಾಸಣಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳು ಲಭ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವಂತಹ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ತಲುಪಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದಿರುವಂತಹ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ತಪಾಸಣೆಗೆ ತಗಲುವ ವೆಚ್ಚಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉಳಿಸಬಹುದು. ಈ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ಬಳಸಿ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ತಪಾಸಣೆ ಸೇವೆ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು.

ENGLISH SUMMARY :

Hearing is essential for effective communication. Impairment in hearing can cause disruption in communication, as well as can have an impact on academic achievements, workplace, emotional and psychological areas. Hence, early detection of hearing loss is vital for effective intervention. Everyone should check their hearing to make sure that hearing loss (if any) is detected early. In order to facilitate hearing checks, the All India Institute of Speech & Hearing, Mysore has developed an android based mobile app for hearing screening. The team consisting of Dr. P. Manjula, Dr. B Jithin Raj, Mr. B Nagaraju and Mr. S Prashanth have made this possible.
Anyone who wishes to know if their hearing is normal or not can use the AIISH Hearing Screening (AHS) app which is freely downloadable from the Google play store. It takes less than 5 minutes to administer and can be used by those who are 8 years old and above. The app can be self-administered by users of Hindi, Kannada, and English languages. It requires that earphones are connected to the mobile phone for the administration of this app in order to screen each ear separately.

The AHS app presents a set of words (one after the other), in the presence of background noise, to each ear. The user will have to identify the word by pointing / touching the correct picture (from four options) on the mobile screen. After completing the screening test, the result will be displayed as either PASS or REFER to nearby audiological centres. That is, in case a hearing loss is detected, the user will be informed regarding the need for further evaluation at the nearby audiological centers to seek further help in these centres.

This app is an apt tool for knowing the status of hearing since all people cannot reach the centre with facility for testing (because of distance and/or cost involved). A preliminary screening can be made using this app which will identify those with a hearing problem and refer them to nearby audiological centre for further help. We encourage you all to use the app to detect hearing loss and take necessary action.
Further in the app, provision is made for the link to be shared with others and also has a link to the AIISH YouTube and Facebook pages where the user can avail detailed information regarding AIISH and the services provided.
