ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿಯವರದು ನೇರ ನಡೆ, ನುಡಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಆಧ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಮನುಕುಲಕದ ಒಳಿತಿಗಾಗಿ ಸದಾ ಚಿಂತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರ ಕುರಿತ 450ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು ಪ್ರಪಂಚದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡಿವೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಸತ್ಯ, ಅಹಿಂಸೆ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಖಾದಿ, ಚರಕ, ಕರಕುಶಲ ಕಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಬದುಕಿನ ಅವಿಭಾಜ್ಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಗಾಂಧಿ ಬಯಸಿದ್ದರು.  ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ರಾಜಕೀಯ, ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳು ಸುಧಾರಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಚಿಂತನೆಗಳು ಅನೇಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮತ್ತೆ, ಮತ್ತೆ ಅವರ ವಿಚಾರಧಾರೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಹತ್ತಿರವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರು.

ಗಾಂಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ವಿಚಾರಧಾರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆ ತೋರಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಭವನವು ಬಹಳ ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಮಟ್ಟದ ವೆಬಿನಾರ್ ಗೆ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ.ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

He participated as the chief guest in the webinar on the topic “Gandhi and his Contemporaries in India,” organised by the Gandhi Research Center, University of Mysore.
In his talk, he said, “Gandhi was known for his straight talk and behavior and his preference for cleanliness. He always used to think about the welfare of humanity. There are more than 450 books published across the world in many languages on Gandhi. We have to be more honest in educating our younger generation about Gandhi and his thoughts. The Gandhi Research Centre is doing phenomenal work in this regard.”
