Very less number of toxins have capability to cause disease and fatalities: Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar

Mysuru, May 6, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “A very few number of toxins have the capability to cause diseases and fatalities,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He participated in a national seminar on the topic, “Cells and bio molecules,” organized by the Department of Chemistry, University of Mysore, held at the Rani Bahaddur Auditorium in Manasa Gangotri campus. “Toxins are those particles that have the characteristics of spreading poison through biting and stinging. Toxins have poisonous characteristics. They can enter our body in any way, especially through inhalation. They can be bifurcated as Exotoxins, and Endotoxins. While the Hemotoxins destroy the Red Blood Cells, the Hepotoxins will affect the liver. The Neurotoxins affect the nervous system,” he explained.
American Biomedical Science Prof. J.W. Rocks spoke on the occasion. Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar (Exams), University of Mysore, Prof. K. Kemparaju, Chairman, Department of Biochemistry, Prof. Gopal Marathe K., Department of Atomic Chemistry and others were present on the occasion.
