Training in silk worm farming will help students in building determination, provide proper guidance to farmers: UoM VC

Mysuru, Feb. 9, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “Training in silkworm farming will help the students in building determination, and provide proper guidance to the farmers,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
Skill development subject has been included for the first time in the PG curriculum, at the Sericulture Science Research Department, at the University of Mysore. A 25-day duration training program in silk worm farming was organized as part of this.
To provide training to the students who are pursuing post-graduation, under the subject Skill Development entire process of sericulture and silkworm farming is being provided, starting from laying eggs to growing cocoons.mysore university-VC- Prof. G. On the occasion, he also informed that the cocoons grown by the students had fetched a sum of Rs. 800/- per kg and appreciated their efforts. He assured to provide all required facilities in the future for such programs.
