Tension again at Singhu border: Locals pelt stones on farmers tents, police lathicharge

New Delhi, Jan. 29, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Tension has mounted again at the Singhu border in Delhi as locals pelt stones on the protesting farmers’ tents.
Local people pelted stones on the tents where farmers were protesting, expressing their ire, resulting in an altercation between the local people and the protestors. Police had to lathi-charge and use tear gas to disperse the mob. The locals even pelted stones on the police wounding several of them.
Farmers are protesting against the farm laws of the Govt. of India. A few people claiming to be locals also started protesting against them, and demanded to vacate the place, and attempted to uproot the tents leading to the altercation, according to sources.
