Priority for skill-based curriculum: UoM VC

Mysuru, December 10, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “Skill and creativity based curriculum is being prepared as per the National Education Policy,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He participated in an online workshop on the topic, “National Education Policy: Sociology PG Curriculum,” organized by the Sociology Lecturers’ Association, Department of Sociology, Maharani Women’s Arts College, and the PG Department of Manasagangotri, held at the Vignana Bhavana.
In his address, he informed that the Sociology Department has a history of 70 years, and it commenced under the leadership of C. Parvathamma. “About 115 students have taken Ph.D.’s in 23 research projects till now,” he said.
Dr. Yashoda, HoD, Department of Sociology, Manasagangotri, Dr. B.T. Vijay, Principal, Maharani Women’s Arts College, Rekha Jadhav, Co-Lecturer, and others participated in the webinar. Resource persons Dr. Sowmya Kumar, Dr. G.D. Narayan, Dr. Doreswamy were also present.
