Pandemic: Check out the decisions taken in today’s meeting held by the CM with officials

Bengaluru, Apr. 16, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Chief Minister B.S. Yedyurappa today held an emergency meeting with officials of the concerned department following the fast spreading of the corona second wave in the state.
The following measures were taken in the meeting. as a precautionary measure to prevent the further spread of the pandemic. The meeting was attended by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar and senior officials of various government departments:
1. Measures to start temporary hospitals by making agreements with nearest corporate hospitals and hotels to handle corona patients with mild symptoms;
2. Only patients who have serious symptoms are advised to be admitted to the hospitals for treatment;
3. Measures to reserve 50% beds in private hospitals for government patients ;
4. Reservation of 1000 beds in government medical colleges;
5. Reservation of 1000 beds in government hospitals;
6. Reservation of 5,000 beds in private medical colleges for COVID patients;
7. Engage one IPS and IAS officer and one official from the BWSSB, BESCOM and Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust as nodal officers to monitor and ensure availability of immediate treatment in private hospitals to needy patients;Corona- increase- decisions -meeting - CM BS yeddyurappa
8. Only patients who are suffering from acute symptoms will be treated in the hospitals. Patients with mild symptoms will be treated in temporary health centers and measures will be taken to hold the patients only up to the required number of days and discharge them immediately after they are cured;
9. There is no shortage of Remdsevir injections in the state as of now. Even though tender has been invited to purchase additional doses and measures will be taken to store additional doses after finalizing the tenders;
10. There is no shortage of oxygen in the state as of now. But the Govt. of India has been requested to provide 5,000 additional oxygen cylinders to face emergency;
11. Measures will be taken to purchase jumbo cylinders to avoid changing of oxygen cylinders frequently;
12. Oxygen production units have been established in several medical colleges already. Tenders have been invited to establish oxygen production units in all district hospitals;
13. Measures to be taken to appoint frontline workers like doctors, nurses temporarily on contract basis;
14. Expedite contact tracing across the state;
15. Measures to put a seal on the palms of patients who are in home isolation;
16. Measures to be taken to ensure availability of COVID test results within 24 hours and reduce the testing time;
17. Implement guidelines of containment zones and micro containment zones strictly;
18. Take all required measures to avoid gatherings;
19. Ensure availability of ambulances including 108 ambulance services in all the district headquarters including Bengaluru city;
20. Reserve 400 ambulances in Bengaluru to attend COVID patients and offer free of cost services;
21. Reserve services of 49 ambulances to transport bodies of patients who have expired due to COVID free of cost;
22. Conduct free cremation of people who die due to corona in crematoriums
23. Take measures to ensure that the BBMP will equip control rooms and be ready to serve COVID patients all the time and press experienced people on duty in the helpline centers.
